Spotlight: First Eagle Funds Spotlight: First Eagle Funds

The Global Value Investing Corporate Kit, a cornerstone piece for the sales team

A client of both Leibowitz Communications and Sugarspun Industries, First Eagle Funds maintains its position as a leader in the mutual fund industry through meticulous, bottom-up fundamental research, a global opportunity set and a strong aversion to loss. Their approach is rooted in a sense of conservative investment ideals, discipline and aversion to loss and a long-standing company tradition of value investing. Audiences should come away with the perception that First Eagle is committed to its core values: Conservative, Cautious and Conviction.

Website

Beginning with the website in 2007, we have been working on a brand refresh of First Eagle Funds. The logo, a recognizable element with brand equity, has remained the same, but the website, followed by a suite of marketing and shareholder materials, have been transformed to visually express the core values and set the company apart from its peers.

Newsletters

In order to create a look that is uniquely First Eagle, we considered elements such as custom photography and two separate color palettes differentiating types of materials. All communications developed across mediums maintain brand consistency, tell a clear story about the funds’ ideals, and create a true brand experience for their various audiences.

Fund Fact Sheet and Calendar Year End Returns Card

Our main goal is to accomplish the objectives of our client, and we have been able to achieve this and expand the brand significantly. A note from our client:

"The work accomplished by Leibowitz Communications and Sugarspun Industries has elevated the First Eagle Funds brand to new heights. What was once somewhat stale and disconnected has developed into a comprehensive, multi-faceted First Eagle communication system that our firm is proud to project to clients. From website to business cards to financial reports, the response from our audience has been extremely positive and could not have been achieved without the tremendous effort from the two firms."

We continue to shape the First Eagle brand with additional print and digital materials.

The Royce Funds Win Big in the MFEA 2008 Star Awards

The Royce Funds, a Leibowitz client for over a decade, is a mutual fund company with over $30 billion in assets. The organization is known for its folksy attitude and attention to small-cap companies. In 2006, we began a re-brand with Royce to create a cohesive look with a refreshed logo, new brand elements, and an expanded color palette. With this new look, we created a variety of print and online communications and a new website.

This past year, Royce entered their suite of newly branded print and online materials in to the Mutual Fund Education Alliance 2008 Star Awards. The annual STAR Awards recognize mutual fund companies for outstanding investor communications, education and support. Each year, the MFEA examines the best educational materials, both print and electronic, in the mutual fund industry and then asks industry judges to select from the best. The Royce Funds was honored with seven awards, including the top honor of Best Overall Communications for a Medium Sized Company.
